What you should know about your home’s electrical wiring

2009-04-10

More often, dads play the all-around handy man when it comes to their homes especially to the electrical wires. It is not a mom’s job to crawl at the ceiling and be electrocuted anyway. But whoever who gets to do this task of fixing electrical wires, here are some tips that you could use for your safety.

  1. Look at the color of the wires that were used in your home. The common and the safest wire must be in copper. However, if the wires are silvery metal you have an aluminum wire. This is actually dangerous especially if you don’t know much about wiring. Simple call a licensed electrician and let him do the work for you.
  2. Do not reach the fuse panel or any circuit using your two hands. If you experience a short circuit, it could go across or directly to your heart. Always keep one of your hands in your pocket without holding pin or any kind of metal.
